CBS Philadelphia Spotlights HOPE Symposium with IFS CEO Javi Alvarado and Advocate Oronde McClain

Stephanie Stahl of CBS Philadelphia sat down with Intercultural Family Services CEO Javi Alvarado to discuss the vision behind the upcoming HOPE Symposium—a powerful, citywide gathering focused on gun violence prevention, healing, and community action.

Also featured is Oronde McClain, a gun violence survivor and nationally recognized advocate. With over 20 years of experience supporting victims and shaping ethical media narratives, Oronde currently serves as Director of Survivor Connection at the Philadelphia Center for Gun Violence Reporting. His work is rooted in bridging the divide between communities and the media to ensure that the stories of survivors are told with dignity, accuracy, and impact.
