Housing Counseling Program
Since 1983, our Housing Counseling program has provided homeownership and rental counseling to hundreds of families each year.
About the Program
IFS partners with the city of Philadelphia to provide free counseling and education to individuals in the Philadelphia area to help stabilize housing insecurity issues and encourage home ownership and financial literacy. The IFS housing program provides individual and group counseling for pre- and post-purchase, first-time home buyers, reverse mortgages, default and delinquency, and rental counseling.
Families that are successful and attend required First Time Home Buyer classes are eligible for First Time Home Buyer (FTHB) grants up to $20,000.
