Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS)
The goal of the Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) program is to promote the ability of children/youth and families to live, learn, and thrive in their natural ecological settings. IBHS services at IFS offer evidence-based individual, family, and group mental wellness services to children, youth, and family members who reside in or attend schools located within the 19151 and 19139 zip codes. IBHS helps to successfully transition youth back into the school setting from acute settings such as inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization, or residential treatment facilities by providing care coordination and linking families to supportive community services that address their immediate needs.
Immediate Family Engagement
The IBHS program accomplishes its goals through comprehensive and immediate family engagement. Services involve interventions designed to reduce and manage behaviors of concern while increasing coping skills and prosocial behaviors in at-risk youth. Evidence-Based Practices for individual, group, and family services include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Bridging Mental Health and Education in Urban Schools (BRIDGE), and Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS/BOUNCEBACK). IBHS can be delivered seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Eligibility Requirements
Youth must be eligible for Medicaid and have a behavioral health diagnosis.
How to Access Services
IBHS accepts self-referrals from families or community-based providers such as school progressive intervention and identification processes.
