Adara Combs Bio

Adara L. Combs, Esq., proudly serves as Philadelphia’s first appointed Victim Advocate. With a strong background as a former prosecutor, she has committed her career to the pursuit of justice. Since taking the helm of the Office of the Victim Advocate in 2022, Combs has championed the voices of victims and co-victims, initiating impactful programs that enhance the city’s response to trauma and support community healing.

As a Commissioner for the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, Combs is a key player in shaping state-wide criminal justice policies that emphasize safety, fairness, and compassion.

Combs is deeply engaged in her community and holds significant roles on various boards. She is a current board member of 1000 Women Strong, a past president and current member of the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia, as well as an active member of the Philadelphia Bar Association. Combs has held previous leadership roles with the National Bar Association and the National Black Prosecutors’ Association. Additionally, she is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., demonstrating her dedication to service and leadership.
